The Christmas Birdie. By Nell Lawlor.
This delightful tale, written by Nell Lawlor, see details below, will be read by her daughter. Inspired by the questions of seven grand-children Nell wrote this tale to ensure the little ones realised that Santa was keeping his eye on them.
New artwork by Tina Lawlor Mottram will be on display and you will also have the chance to make your own handmade book as a special present for somebody in your life. A really excellent gift, made with love and from recycled materials. Christmas with a difference!
Nell Lawlor was born in Dublin and lived for many years of her life in Greystones, Co Wicklow. A very keen gardener, Nell was inspired by the regular visits by a robin during the month of December and decided to create this story to ensure her grand-children behaved themselves! She has also written many adventure tales for young readers. Nell’s work has been published in Irish magazines and also in The Irish Times. Nominated for the coveted Hennessy Award in the 1980s, Nell still continues to write and paint and of course, enjoys the colour of flowers in bloom all year round.
