A tutor with Medway Adult Education (MACLS) since October 2016, Tina enjoys tailoring material to suit her class, using books, Powerpoints, Spanish news and newspapers and encourages students to chat, ask questions, learn about grammar and enjoy the company and experience of other students.
Although Tina trained originally as a visual artist to postgraduate level and worked in publishing in Collins EFL department, HMSO and the Tower of London, she changed careers to teach English abroad while also studying Spanish. She has lived in Barcelona and Madrid and travelled extensively in Spain, while studying Spanish to DELE C1 (degree) level with the Cervantes Institute in London. In the UK Tina taught Spanish at GCSE level in a London secondary school for 6 years.
In 2018, Tina was artist/writer-in-residence in a not for profit organisation in Buenos Aires, Zona Imaginaria, endeavouring to keep up to date with language and culture. Tina has also studied Nahuatl for a year, the Aztec language, in the University of Complutense in Madrid and has studied languages such as Irish, Czech and Hungarian. She brings this experience as a student to help students discover their best way of learning.
